The Council ID immutably ties you to your activity on the Bobina Council using your first login provider. Any additional social links you add are tied to this Council ID and can be used to login afterwards. Your initial login provider can never be unlinked as it's the only means of recovery for your account. The Bobina Council stores zero passwords on our databases.

Council IDs can be found in the settings menu or on your profile under the Council Username.

Breaking Down Council IDs

Council IDs are immutably tied to the first login provider you sign in with.

This is a term we like to call soulbound, borrowed from gaming terminology where an item (in this case your first login provider) is tied to a generated Council ID forever. This ID never changes and follows you throughout all of your activities in the Bobina Council, such as: voting, feedback reports for Bobina, proposal submissions and more.

Legacy System

Initially when the Bobina Council began as a humble repository, there was only one authorized login provider; X (formerly Twitter). This worked for a brief season of testing, but after migrating our slop hashes into a more sortable set of lists, we've consolidated all login providers into a system where they're tied to the auto-generated Council ID for simplicity's sake when it came to interacting with Bobina on Telegram, Discord, Web or soon Local. In the migration process, we've automatically generated Council IDs for users who have not had the chance to migrate.

When you sign in, you'll be immediately prompted to migrate over to the Council ID system. All of your submitted Bobinas, interactions with Bobina, vote history, and statistics should carry over. If there are any issues, you can always contact a Council Admin on Telegram and we'll sort it out in a jiffy!

Necessity of Council IDs

Currently we're offering login provision for Telegram, Discord, Facebook, Google, Discord, X, and Web3 (Phantom, Metamask, Base Wallet). Additional login providers means orders of magnitude more possible users able to plug in their ideas and contributions towards a Bobina World Order. For example, if you login with Telegram or Discord, you're automatically synced with Bobina on that platform; no additional setup required to begin participating in testing!

The Council ID system is something where we can expand upon the initial idea and build out a roles system for enhanced granular permissions across the whole platform. We're testing the idea of an awards system, but for now we will leave the deciding to the Council via proposals.
